Moral reasoning is indissociably from Lawrence Kohlberg’s theory of moral development (Maxwell, 2014). Kohlberg believed that people advanced in their moral reasoning and that there are six distinguishable stages which could be more generally classified into three levels. I believe that children that are being raised in poverty, have a totally different perspective on moral development, rather than students in other socioeconomic classes. Although the effects may be different, I believe that Kohlberg’s 3 levels of defined morality uphold, to the work being done today.
