Talley Johnson and Bubba Chamm were patiently waiting, in the deer stand, for the coveted 12-point whitetail buck they had witnessed earlier that fall. Many hours passed with no sign of any deer. All of a sudden, Bubba heard an extremely noisy, bloodcurdling scream. Talley said that he was insane, that there was no noise at all. Bubba shrugged it off, assuming his exhaustion from waking up early was causing him to hear things. Earlier in the week, a venomous spider bit Talley, and his doctor scheduled a follow up appointment. Therefore, around 4 o’clock, Talley wished Bubba good luck and carefully climbed down the stand and maneuvered his way out of the woods to get home. Because he had never killed a deer and was always slandered by friends and classmates, Bubba decided to hunt until dark, determined not to walk home empty handed again. No other odd situations presented themselves, as a discouraged Bubba began his descent down the ladder. …show more content…
Confused, he stepped back up, turned his flashlight on, and looked to the ground. Bubba saw nothing. Once again, he starts down the ladder, this time with no resistance. He became very on-edge, and as he reached back into the stand for his rifle, it was absent. Visions of horror movies filled his mind, and Bubba could think of nothing but getting away from the woods and the incidents which occurred. He felt himself running, not down the path to his house, but in the opposite direction into a field, with vague light dispersed throughout. Bubba sprinted full speed for several miles until his body could no longer withstand, and as a result, he passed out in a corn
