The Pine Barrens
The Pine Barrens is a wonderful place. Filled with lots of trees and beautiful animals, the most precious thing that they have is their water that comes from the Kirkwood Cohansey Aquifer. The Pine Barrens forest is the biggest area between Richmond (VA) and Boston (MA). Also it takes up 1.1 million acres of land.
The Pine Barrens water is the most precious thing that it has. The Kirkwood Cohansey aquifer carries 1.3 trillion gallons of water and, supplies 90% of stream that you see. Also 1 million people drink from that water. An aquifer is an underground layer of rock or soil that is filled with water. The Pine Barrens water is all fresh water allowing fresh water animals to swim in that area.
