First, the most important part of passing your ACT is having a study guide to follow and knowing the layout of the test. The ACT has certain dates and different locations where you can take the test. There is usually two test dates before the month of May, only one in the summer, and two after August. Personally, I am going to aim for the summer test, because you don't have to worry about school for two months and can concentrate on passing your ACT. Also it is critical that you know the information that is going to be covered on the test. If you have …show more content…
After you have already discussed what you have in mind for a career with a counselor, then they will go ahead and apply for you. Some classes are more expensive then others, and not all parents will pay for your college classes. I would start off by-before even taking your ACT- getting a job where you can pay for most of college, at least. It also gives you a sense of appreciation when you pay your own way through. If ,at that time, you can't afford all the classes your counselor has set you up for or don't have time because of work, then you can call him/her to drop that class for the semester and take it the next. It may take a little longer completing college that way, but the important thing is getting through and knowing what classes you need to take. The goal of getting into college can be accomplished by the three things I have explained: Taking your ACT, talking with a counselor, and finally, applying for classes. The most important thing is taking your ACT and making a good score, since that is what determines which college you can get into, but each and every step is

During the college search process, I've learned that I am a take-charge person. Before applying to college I did not have an older sibling or parent telling me what to do, therefore I had to figure everything out myself; which included family trips to visit colleges, the application process, and countless meetings that I made with my counselor to make sure I was on track. Although having pancakes every week may seem like it would get old, it has the opposite effect, and I look forward to the quality time with my family every week.…
