I’ve chosen to write about the differences between the book Paper Towns and the movie, basically what they didn’t include and what they changed in the film adaption. Personally I would say that I prefer the book before the movie, because the book is obviously more detailed and you get to read about the character's backstory and get to know them better.
The author, who co-produced the film, made a video on youtube where he talked about the fact that the movie will be like the book but at the same time it will not. He explained a few of the changes, for an example Margo and Q goes to seaworld the night before Margo’s disappearance, that scene was not included in the movie because none of the producers wanted to spend money on giving seaworld good publicity, due to the company’s bad actions. So there is explanations behind some of the changes, however there are some pretty huge changes that’s tied in with the plot of the book.
If we start at the beginning of the book where they discovered a dead body at a playground in a psuedovision, Margo and Q were nine at the time of this event, so …show more content…
They actually did find her in Agloe at the place they went to search for her and Margo got pretty startled to see them there because it was never her plan to lead Q to her. Q got enraged because she left without saying a word and left him to wonder if she was still alive, so they got into an argument. Since this scene kind of defines and forms the ending of the book, the film's end is a bit different and I would say that it made the end kind of frustrating. Mostly because Q saw Margo randomly at the station where he was waiting for his bus and Margo also explained that she had contact with her little sister the whole time, which I find really annoying because Q talked to her little sister right after Margo’s
