In managing a telehealth nursing team, I have been fortunate to take part in implementing our one-year new system. Our leadership team works closely with our implementations team, our clients and the nurses to create and maintain a standardized nursing system for the company. The job entails some computer programing in simple commands to manipulate client screens, setting up new client screens, creating client specific letters to import data and coordinating updates; so, the system is user friendly for nurses, the claims team and clients. This paper has compared two of them. The CCC system is very well organized providing the researcher the ability to extract data with ICD-10 codes as its base in development. The ICNP system is beneficial in comparing data at a worldwide level and available in many national languages with more developing. When health care settings agree to adopt any standardized nursing system, such as the two compared in this paper, the benefits are great in making advancements in nursing knowledge and at all levels of health care. Nurses, the greatest collectors of data have the ability to influence and promote education, nursing research, policy and standardize patient care. Not everyone speaks the same language, so teamwork among the members utilizing the system will be necessary. The data should be meaningful to every member involved. There are challenges to reaching this level of knowledge and wisdom that should be overcome, starting with education. Nurses may be resistant to what they do not understand and when the benefits of how the data may help nursing is understood, nurses may be more willing to comply.
