Nhs 4 Pillars Analysis

It is an honor to be considered for National Honor Society. The four pillars of NHS are Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. I believe that I have shown the qualities of the four pillars, and I will continue to enhance them. The first pillar that I will talk about is scholarship. Scholarship is defined as a student's dedication to show their educational attainment. A quote by Nelson Mandela that helps me understand the education system. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” I strive to have a 3.8 or higher. If I struggle on an assignment it motivates me to work hard to get it back up. There are three representatives for my class, and I helped organize the homecoming activities. My freshman year I took a mentoring class. This class was supposed to help us become better role-models for the younger kids. One of the things to become better mentors was to help the preschoolers. We would go to their classroom and color with them so they would then speak their minds. Another thing that we did was create a “Middle School Survival Guide” for the middle schoolers. We all talked about different things including hygiene, dress code, and how to be a good friend. Character is is the sum of one’s qualities and actions. I believe that I display character by working hard in everything that I do. When I do that I set a good example for my younger brother and the other children in my school or neighborhood. I strive to set good habits in sports and in the classroom. I do this by getting up and going to the gym by 6:30am, and to attend different basketball camps to make myself better for myself and for my teammates. I believe that I have shown and will continue to show the qualities of the four pillars. Thank you for considering
