My struggles continued into JV. Despite playing well I did not get a lot of playing time and had difficulty gaining the respect of my teammates who did not feel like they could count on me. Undaunted by these results I resolved to continue to work hard and push myself to new limits. Over the summer I spent my free time working on skills and my fitness. After my great workouts over the summer I wasn’t just aiming to play on JV. I was striving to play on Varsity and so were my fellow Junior classmates. On the first day of tryouts my coach pulled together all of the Juniors and told us that many of us would not make Varsity and that if we did not want to play on JV that we should tell him now. I, unlike many other Juniors, told him that I would be willing to play JV. After several intense days of tryouts I was finally told what team I would play for. I had failed to make Varsity and would play another season on JV. The other Juniors who did not make Varsity declined the invitation to play
