Mitali Perkins has written this article to young immigrant students who have to leave their home and go to school. She started her writing in a very light note, ‘You lose a place that feels like home….’ She is very pessimistic about her article in the first paragraph. Her advice to the young immigrants includes all things that they will lose including their language, tribe, their parents, power of traditions and their home. In her article she told the immigrants not to be discourage since there is good news about life, here she showed a very sense of encouragement that she posse (Pass, 1998).
How Mitali Perkins wrote, her article is too impressive. She used her writing skills to show her intelligence. She used rhythm to capture every heart and ear in her audience. She also has depth of knowledge. In her article, she talks about immigrants as if she went through herself. She knew what she was exactly talking about and it seems she had historical information about it. The way she wrote words in her articles was draw dropping (Pass, 1998).
Among the use of pathos, ethos and logos, pathos is the strongest out of all of them. The strength of encouragement she reproduced for his audience is phenomenal. She encouraged the immigrants not to fear the new environment. Pathos is also expressed strongly in most paragraphs where she talked about losing most of the things.
