The article "Angela Duckworth and the Research on Grit" by Emily Handford, she described being gritty as "tendency not to abandon tasks in the face of obstacles" ( pg. 51). Handfords article shows the Duckworth's research had the idea that being gritty means to work hard and focus on a task, even with obstacles in the way. A person with a fixed mindset will feel "utter failure and paralysis" . A person with a growth mindset would think of it as a bump in the end the road and to just work harder at it .
