When I was a baby my parents decide to move to the United States but decided to leave me back in Ethiopia with my auntie and grandma until they were able to get settled. For the next few years until I moved to the U.S my grandma was the one that took care of me. Since I didn’t really know my parents other than speaking on the phone I developed more of an attachment with my grandma because she was the person that I saw every day, she took me to school, picked me up and all in all basically took care of me.
