REQUIREMENTS
In the research that I have conducted, I have found that to become a police officer it requires that I have education beyond a high school diploma. I must study at least 54 hours in a college that is accredited regionally. While seeking the 54 credit course hours, I must maintain a c average of better. If college is not a choice that I want to take, I can also join the military and remain active for at least two years, after the two years I must depart service with an honorable discharge.

A lot of techniques will be taught during training while in the police academy. As a recruit, you will study self-defense, and physical training. The Memphis Police Department has a fitness training program for new recruits. In training, recruits work on agility and body endurance. In this program, recruits must keep an average of 75%.In this program, there is running, pushups, and obstacle courses. These exercises test your endurance, strength, will power, and flexibility. Recruits will also learn about their weapons and the importance of weapon safety. Recruits must pass the qualification exam and course with 80%.
