Lance Armstrong was born in Texas in 1971. Armstrong was raised by his mother, Linda in the suburbs of Dallas. Armstrong stated athletics at an early age. He began running and swimming at an early age and at 10 entered triathlons. He focused on riding because it was his favourite event and strongest. During high school Armstrong was invited to the U.S Olympic development team, before turning pro as an international cyclist, although his career was in jeopardy when he developed testicular cancer. The cancer didn’t stop him returning to win seven consecutive Tour de France races 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 22 individual stage wins, although he was convicted of using performance enhancing with forfeited his titles. He finally admitted doping in 2013.

Not only has Lance lost his seven titles but he is banned from entering in any cycling competitions. He has also lost the respect and admiration of this fellow peers and millions of fans who were at owe with his miraculous feet. Armstrong has become even more of a celebrity for the wrong reasons and lost respect from the general public. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey Armstrong admitted to taking performance enhancing drugs and blood fusions due to a ‘ruthless desire to win.’ After the interview were Armstrong admitted to doping CBS reported that Armstrong was in communication with the U.S Justice Department officials about paying back the $35 million dollars of sponsorship from the U.S postal service to Armstrong’s
