In act 2, scene 2, Lady Macbeth shows strong commitment towards the marriage, as she is willing to do anything to prevent Macbeth from being caught. For example, she says "I'll gild their faces...for it must seem their guilt." This shows that she is thinking of him, and ways to reassure him while he is in a panicked state. She tells him to give her the daggers, so her dominant side is taking over in the relationship once again, much like in earlier scenes where she tends to break the feminine stereotype and fit in better with the masculine one. She says "the sleeping and the dead are but as pictures" which means she is saying they look the same, which may give them extra time to cover up the fact that they have killed King Duncan.…
Great Post! I agree with your answer that there are multiple conflicts. I also agree with Lady Macbeth has her own conflicts and she had a big decision in the way of her husband having his own conflicts. Another group of individuals that participated in Macbeth’s death was that of the three witches and their predication that he would become King so between the four women he really did not have a choice in the decision making because greed took over and caused his expiration. I feel that both of the Macbeths had issues with society because if Lady Macbeth did not help with the murder plot she would not have dealt with the bloodshed on her hands and not have cracked up and committed suicide.…

William Shakespeare was well known for the main characters of his plays using their tragic flaws to create their own downfall. In this play, we see a different kind of tragic hero. Macbeth is pushed by his mentally unstable wife to commit the murder of the beloved King Duncan, and even though Macbeth has always been known as a great warrior, he can’t use these skills for evil no matter how much he craves power. Before the idea of power was brought to him, Macbeth was a noble and loyal soldier to King Duncan and the country of Scotland.…

The play Macbeth was written by William Shakespeare between the time of 1599 and 1606. The play is one of his shortest, yet darkest plays. At this time superstition and witchcraft was very much believed in, hence inspired by the Holinshed’s chronicles Shakespeare wrote the play. William Shakespeare’s tragedy Macbeth tells the fictionalized story of Macbeth’s rise to the throne. His ambition is spurred by Lady Macbeth who feels that Macbeth will not be strong enough to undertake the necessary requirements, in their minds, to gain the titles of King and Queen. The characterizations of both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth undergo complete reversals, and the characters who readers are introduced to at the beginning of the drama barely resemble the people whom they were. The beginning of Macbeth introduces Macbeth as submissive and hesitant, yet extremely dedicated. Macbeth may be Thane of Glamis which holds a position of power, but he is very submissive in his relationship with Lady Macbeth.…

Before and during the murder Lady Macbeth’s character changes from persuasive, manipulative and dominant to just dominant, but Macbeth’s character also changes but in a unique way since his character changes from a person who relies on others to decide for him to a remorseful person. Lady Macbeth’s character before the murder is persuasive and manipulative. Evidence for this can be found when Lady Macbeth is talking to Macbeth and she tries to make him decide on whether to kill Duncan or not by saying ‘I dare not wait upon I would’ or for him to ‘live a coward'. In addition to her being persuasive, it also seems as if she may be an impatient person, as she said, ‘I dare not wait’.…
The Tragic Hero The most modern meaning of the word ‘Tragic Hero’ as defined by Dictionary.com is, "A great or virtuous character in a dramatic tragedy who is destined for downfall, suffering, or defeat."
