Inquiry II Writer’s Letter My goal for this paper was to show that this poster’s message was different than what I thought Student Health should be saying. I picked apart logos, pathos, and ethos and gave them their own separate sections of the paper, to cut down on repetition. Before I analyzed at all, though, I established a clear base to get on the same page as the reader. On the right, white subtitles highlighted in red say, “TIPS FOR SAFE DRINKING”, “BE A FRIEND - TAKE ACTION!”, and “21 MEANS 21” in that order. On top of the cup and the subtitles is the title of the poster, “KNOW YOUR CUP, KNOW YOUR LIMIT.” Underneath the title, cup, and subtitles is the quote, “I stand for honesty, integrity, and the importance of moral conduct” separated from the rest of the poster by two white lines on top and below. In the bottom corners are the Associated Student Government logo and the “I am Miami” logo. In the bottom center is the Miami Office of Student Wellness
