Introduction
In SLS 1103 I learned numerous of strategies that will contribute to my success in college. We discussed Intelligence; what influences it and, How can it be assessed? The different types of intelligence such as Emotional intelligence, which is using emotions to enable adaptive or creative thinking. When using your emotional intelligence you understand the emotions of yourself and others; learning to cope with stress. For note taking you need listening skills. The 4 requirement for note-taking is Preparation, Organize, Listening Skills and Note-Taking System. Preparation is when you come to prepared, come on time, pay attention and don’t sit in the back. Organization is when you keep all of your handouts. Listening skills is when you practice active listening skills but hearing and listening are NOT the same you have sensory phenomenon. You should eliminate distractions, external distraction and internal distractions.
In college besides the numerous of papers that will be due you will have to know how to do a presentation. We learned that to give a good presentation you will need a good hook: 1.Give an introduction confidently 2.Give credential statement 3.Deliever your hook 4.Introduce agenda 5.Give a credible statement. Also you may have to learn how to create power points, with powerpoints we were taught to supersize words, coherent for everyone, have pictures, symbols, use colors wisely, make the information simple and keep it
