In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is a romantic individual who is a player, is quick to love, but follows his heart. For example, Romeo is a player because he goes from loving Rosaline and saying “she is rich in beauty,” to loving Juliet and stating “for I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.” Consequently, because Romeo is so focused on beauty and not as interested in personality, he is quick to fall in love. However, in the text, Romeo says “dear saint, is hateful to myself because it is an enemy to thee,” meaning that Romeo is going against the Capulet’s and Montague’s family fighting. Overall, Romeo is a sappy and romantic person who only considers a girls beauty.
