In the early 1930's Hitler began opening death camps. The first camp to open was Dachau, it opened on March 22, 1933. This was one of the many camps that started the holocaust. This camp was located in a small German town of Dachau, & it was established by the Nazi party. The camp Dachau was divided into 2 parts, one section was the working area & the other was the crematoria area. While the new crematoria was made the old one was being turned into a gas chamber. A new exhibition on the history of Dachau was created between 1996 through 2003. The memorial site is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The entry is free for those who wish to have a lifetime experience on how was it like to be in a concentration camp & have an opportunity to view the camp & the rest of it. I believe this is a very interesting camp to visit during free time. The Dachau concentration camp is a memorial site & museum, with photographs & documents about the camp. This camp was set up as memorial site to never forget the horrible period of time that prisoners from Dachau
