He always kept the girls out of danger the most he could and would know what to do when the time would come. (When the Indians attacked the British, Hawkeye made his way all the way from the back to the front to save the girls and managed to kill a couple people on the way there, so the girls could be in good hands.) Hawkeye could of just left that fight since it wasn’t his fight but he stayed to help out the British. Another time is when the Huron Indians took Duncan and we're gonna burn him alive. Hawkeye broke his moral code to never shoot a man unarmed. But shot Duncan when he was hung up getting burnt so he wouldn’t be in pain. Because generosity got to him, he decided to the right thing.
All three of Hawkeyes senses codes, generosity, and resourcefulness make him who he is. It also makes him the hero he is because without these senses Hawkeye would of never became a hero.
