Group work causes students to work with people that they would not necessarily work with because they are not in their group of friends. Resulting in children becoming friends with people out of their comfort zone or people that would normally bully them. The bullies can also learn that the victims of their bullying are human and have as much feeling as them. Furthermore, the student can realize all of the things they have in common with another person or that they are interested in another person’s talents which can result in a friendship beginning. If a friendship is created the students that would usually bully each other will come together as friends instead of enemies. It also helps children learn many skills they will need later in life like listening skills, communication skills, and teamwork. Most importantly it can help many student overcome bullying because you are working with students you would not usually work with. If you agree with group work because of these many reasons, go tell your teacher they should increase the amount of group work in the classroom because it will result in a better project, work on life skills, and help many children overcome bullying.
