The theme of redemptive love appears multiple times. Refusing to give up on someone can be difficult especially when that person let you down so many times. In the movie Elizabeth and her husband Tony are in an unhealthy marriage. While the marriage is going on the couple give up on each other and the love fades away. The couple both gave up and needed a wake up call. That is where Ms. Clara came in Ms. Clara showed Elizabeth why and how to pray for her husband. After Elizabeth starts to pray for her husband and her marriage everything falls into place. Through prayer Elizabeth forgives Tony for all his shortcomings and refuses to give up on him. For example you don’t have to be an expert to pray. Elizabeth was not familiar with praying but simply just started talking to God. Also there is not only one way to pray. There are multiple ways to pray and talk to God; the traditional way or like Elizabeth did, reading bible verses and journaling her thoughts. The fact that Elizabeth’s daughter started to pray shows us proof that anyone can pray. It doesn’t matter how old you are or if you made any mistakes in your life, anyone can pray.
