My family is what Roosevelt would consider a traditional family. My dad works and my mom stays at home does the cooking, takes cares of us and tries to support my dad in whatever he needs. My siblings and I go to school and I have a job to fulfill my own needs. Yet, this is not the cases in most homes, same as back in 1905. Some families can’t afford to live under one salary and other families, like single parents must make do with what they can. This connects with something we have been hearing quite often recently, which is feminist. A feminist is a person who believes in equality among both sex. A person who does not believe in double standards. A person who wants a boy and girl to be raised alike. When Roosevelt spoke about teach boys and girls alike, he focusses on teaching them how to enjoy life, work not only for themselves but others, to build character, to raise both genders to overcome difficulties not avoid them.
