The Parliament responded to these boycotts and unrespectful acts of revolts by passing the Intolerable Acts of 1774. The Intolerable Act closed the Boston ports until all of the tea that was thrown in the Boston Harbour the night of the Tea Party was repaid (Rabushka). The British blocked off the sea going near the harbour to prevent all trade goods from leaving or entering the ports. This act of authority from the British Parliament made the colonist even angrier with the British.
The event that led to the start of the revolutionary war was the Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre was an deadly event that took place in Boston, year 1770. Patriots, or colonist. The massacre started when colonist threw snowballs at the British soldiers. Once hitten with the snowballs the soldiers shot and killed five patriots and injured six (Bercovitch).
The Revolutionary War was not just one big event or war. Before that even happen there were events that escaladed up to the war. From the taxation acts, to the Boston massacre, the colonies finally got tired of the British Parliament’s rule that they decided to take some stands to get their freedom. Events such as the Boston Tea Party got the attention of the British government. So now my question to you is do you think the Revolutionary War was a war for change, or a war for the colonies freedom from the British
