Emmeline is demanding that justice is to be served, she believes that women should have an equal opportunity compared to men when it came or voting. She felt that these demands were obviously not being met by the government, she vowed that she would change that. Emmeline ensured that all women's voices would be heard, even if it meant having to become violent. After reading Emmeline's statement, I feel that she truly felt that being militant was her only other option. She states that she had tried every other option available to her, but none had worked as they had hoped. Her demands for women's suffrage were not being met, she believed that the only way to fix that was through militant means. Emmeline felt that the damage that would be done upon others was the fact that justice had not yet been served amongst them. Emmeline Pankhurst and other women from the Women's Social and Political Union were strongly attached to this battle, they would stop at nothing to achieve their goals. They were determined, being arrested and imprisoned did not stop them. Instead, they would hold hunger strikes within jail; by doing so, it would keep the public informed on the issue they still face.
