The foils of Don Pedro and Don John illuminate this meaning because Don Pedro doesn’t do any digging or searching to find the source of everyone’s issues even though he is one of the characters that suspects his illegitimate brother Don John as the cause. Don John is somewhat the opposite of this because throughout the whole play he has one goal which was to ruin Claudio and Hero’s wedding and he succeeds(and of course fails at the end). Even though Don John is evil, he puts forth more effort than Don Pedro for what he wants.
