The first main part of the theory was that animals are killed when they are introduced to an new environment to which they cannot adapt. A few animals out of the population have mutations or variations that are advantageous to a specific environment. The variations in these animals are inheritable so these animals pass on these advantageous traits to their offsprings. Over generations the population with variations and mutations increases. Eventually leading to a whole new species adapted to its environment. A main example, often associated with this theory is the Galapagos Finches. Charles Darwin finally returned from his famous voyage on the Beagle on October 2, 1836. Upon returning from his voyage Darwin began to prepare his journels from his travel. He slowly began to show a few people what he had found and collected through his journey. One of these people being a geolgist named Charles Lyell. This book is Darwins second book on evolutionary theory after On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. The Descent of Man and Selection in Relation to Sex contains three main parts inside. The first part talks about how Darwin considers if man is descended from an earlier form just like all other species. Next Darwin talks about how man has developed throghout time.
