This year officer Perez (are D.A.R.E officer) came and taught my class. I learned many things and discovered things I never knew about. Some topics, I learned about were Alcohol and Tobacco. During D.A.R.E also learned about bullying, Stress, and resistance strategies.
My first topic is alcohol. I learned that alcohol is illegal for anyone under the age of 21. Alcohol weakens the heart muscle, and reduces the amount of blood pumped to and from the heart. The bodies of teens are still growing, so alcohol affects them more severely than adults. Too much alcohol can slow down the body and this can not only lead to a coma, but it can even lead to death. There are 75,000 alcohol related deaths every year in the U.S. I will use these facts I know about alcohol, so that I don’t drink alcohol in the future.
My second topic is tobacco. I learned that cigarettes contain nicotine an addictive substance. Chewing tobacco can cause mouth cancer, tooth cancer, and other health problems. Smoking causes heart disease. There are more than 200 harmful chemicals in cigarettes. Smoking causes lung cancer. Smokers have more colds and upper respiratory problems. I will use these facts so I know about tobacco so that I don't chew nor smoke tobacco. …show more content…

These words stand for who is being bullied, what happened that caused the bullying, when did the bullying happen, where did the bullying happen, and why did the bullying happen. Cyber and verbal bullying is a crime. There are 4 types of bullying, verbal, physical, social, and cyber bullying. Bullying starts at ages 3-4 and never ends. I will use those facts I know about bullying so that I don't ever bully anyone. And so that I am never a bystander and always help when someone is being
