2. Right before the judge walks in, one of the bailiffs says, “All rise Court is now in session.” Why do we have to stand up when the judge walks in? As soon as he walks in, before he even sits down and looks at the people he already says, “You may be seated.”
- All I know is it is a sign of respect. You are supposed to honor the robe and do as the judge says. There is no other reason for it and if there is, I am unaware of them. I just know it is a sign of respect.

One interesting thing that surprised me about the court system would be when this one guy was guilty for attempting murder by beating another man with a classical baton and a baseball bat was presented in front of the court was only given a five-year probation sentence.
