I want to thank you for taking time with the seniors this year and their endeavors on completing their senior projects. I know you put in your own time and effort, and in some cases money, in helping us seniors and I hope you know how grateful we are to have had you as our mentors.
My senior project is on the subject of cosplay. Cosplay is the action of costume play. People will Cosplay by putting on a character's outfit from an anime, comic book, video game and more and act as that character. I hope to complete a professional looking Cosplay soon. Thanks to my mentor, Debra Dooling-Sherman, I am working on making the outfit of Angel, a character from the Marvel world of X-Men. Angel is indeed a man, but for this Cosplay I am making, I am making a female costume. Angel has the power of flight from the angel like wings he has formed out of his back, hence the reason his superhero name is Angel. In this Cosplay I am making articulated wings. Some things I've learned: Ordering online take time and shipping takes forever unless you specifically pay more for faster shipping, planned time on making something will usually take longer because of complications not planned, be ready for the unexpected, make time for things you do not know how long will take and don't be afraid to ask for help. I went into this project with no experience in the costume making business and I wish I had spent more time with my mentor so I could get more help. I myself was too afraid that asking for help would make me look like an idiot, so I struggled on my own. Of course, I had a wonderful mentor that was there for help, I just didn't use the resource
