The purpose of this article was to show the land that Athens owned and the land that the Han Empire owned. This was very important because bodies of water provide great trade and transportation. Also, the Aegean Sea is a perfect crossroads for trade because it is surrounded by the Persian Empire and also dumps into the Mediterranean Sea which is a very major part of Europe. The geographical success trumps the Han Dynasty’s for many reasons. For example, the Chinese territory was very large, however, it was isolated by various landmarks such as the Himalayan Mountains and deserts. This was weak compared to the Athenians because Athens controlled a peninsula that was open to many surround civilizations by boat and other civilizations from the North.
