There were a select few parts truly worth watching in Maze Runner. In particular, the special effects and Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) used in the film are absolutely phenomenal. Perhaps they even make up for some of the areas that are lacking in Maze Runner. This is made apparent in the appearance of the Grievers and the ‘Maze’. The eerily lifelike Grievers send a chill down your spine whenever they appear. These bio-mechanical freaks of nature are sputtering, slavering, screeching fiends that, when brought to life on screen, make you fear for your own life just witnessing their presence. The movements and details of every inch of their bodies are hair-raisingly vivid; they certainly stole the show. The Maze was also truly remarkable and unparalleled. The amount of precision with which the brutal blocks of concrete and metal were created is breathtaking. The in-depth illustration of the unrelenting labyrinth leaves you pining to explore it, as it seems so wondrously real. Overall a spectacular visual
