Regularly, people describe me as a missionary counselor. To be sure, we offer biblical counselling to our missionaries and their national pastors. When preferring the term “coaching” a disconnect often follows. Professional Christian Leadership Coaching is a wonderful tool helping our missionaries discover their Kingdom Potential for their lives and ministries. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus commanded us, “Seek first his Kingdom of God, and his righteousness . . .” When we adhere to these two commands, Christ gives a promise. Professional Christian Coaching seeks to draw our God’s working in a Christian’s soul. The way forward lies in God’s stirring within that person’s heart. Jesus the Master Coach. Jesus during his short ministry asked over 300 questions. Imagine, three-hundred questions. There are over 3,000 questions asked in the Bible. A properly placed open ended question is a powerful tool. Drawing out God’s will from the deep waters of the heart requires this approach Jesus often employed. Before Jesus began his parable of the Two Sons in Matthew twenty-eight, he asked, “What do you think?” Rather than just tell the crowd what they needed to do, the Son of God took his listeners on journey into their souls by a single question.
Missionary Coaching
A missionary inboxed me on Facebook from the field he served. Confidentiality is foundational in coaching. Clients must be assured that what is spoken about in the coaching session stays in the coaching session. Requesting permission from this young missionary I coach, he gave permission to share general aspects of our coaching sessions together in this article. This article is written and approved with his
