C. Wright Mills is an American sociologist from Texas known for many works. One of his most popular claims of fame per say, was constructing the term and thought process of sociological imagination. A sociological imagination is a type of mind set that one can have. This term was used to describe sociology and its importance in day to day life. You may be asking yourself, what exactly is sociological imagination? C Wright mills defined this as “the vivid awareness of the relationship between personal experience and wider society” (Crossman, A. 2012). These questions are to better understand the components involved that can be applied to the sociological imagination concept. Some questions of this could sound like “What is the structure of this particular as a whole?” “what are it’s essential; components, and how are they related to one another? How is it different from the other varieties of social order? So basically to summarize these first set of questions its stating the definition of social imagination through identifying with parts of the essential components. The difference of social order by comparative analysis to identify meaning in terms of things in society continuing and changing. Personal troubles of milieu are issues that are specific to one individual and their private problems. Whereas public issues of social structure are usually less private and open for more people to realize and experience. Most problems that arise is one’s life are personal trouble of milieu. One who has a sociological imagination will be able to look at public issues in the social structure and be able to problem solve and propose many solutions to that type of
