Mark Demonte and his little sister, Jessie, were bored out of their minds. For two months, the two of them had been dying to go their uncle Ned’s new vacation home in South PEI. The brochure said there was kite surfing, scuba diving, and wake boarding. But Mark and Jessie should have thought things through, because Ned recently sprained his ankle, and all those activities needed an adult to accompany them.
Two months of begging for nothing! Mark thought angrily. This vacation is a disaster!
He was about to take a nap in his lounging chair, when Mark saw the new, unopened tablet package next to Uncle Ned’s.
Or, thought Mark with a smile, maybe not.

“Is the assault squad ready for the mission?”
“The assault squad is ready for the mission.”
“Perfect! This is Agent 412 coming in with the assault weapons.”
Their leader had discussed the plan several times. The purpose of the mission was to see how much force one of the human governments could withstand, so they could tell how much power the Krysphron would need for the ultimate invasion of planet Earth.
First, one of the spacecraft would fly to America and leave the attack squadron near the museum. Everything must be done so that not one human notices anything. The spacecraft must wait at the edge of the atmosphere in order for a Krysphron base in Canada to temporarily reduce the atmosphere so that they can go through. Once the base did this, they would send a light signal to let them know. After that was done, Agent 412 would pilot another spacecraft to the attack squad to deliver the weapons. Finally, they would launch an all-out attack on the American Museum of National History.
Agent 412 set the coordinates for America. In less than twenty-four hours, this planet will be ours, he thought to himself.

Find your own tablet!” replied Mark.
“Hey, it’s my vacation, too, you know!” Jessie shot back, while grabbing the package and taking out the tablet.
“Hey! Give that back!” shouted Mark, as he and Jessie tugged on the tablet back and forth, back and forth, creating a lot of flashes of reflected light that could be seen from space. . . .
Somewhere on the edge of the solar system:
Huh? thought Agent 412 as he saw the flashes on the east side of Canada. He frowned. That’s odd. I could have sworn I saw the base on the west side of Canada when they showed us the map. Agent 412 decided to think about it later.
He piloted his spaceship through Earth’s atmosphere. But for some odd reason, when he looked at the scanners, the atmosphere didn’t seem to have a lower temperature yet. That’s when Agent 412 figured it out.
He wasn’t going to deliver the weapons – which meant no invasion.

Kaboom!
To Mark, the explosion was far but still very disturbing. “What was that?” he cried while releasing the tablet out of his hands.
“Yes!” Jessie exclaimed, grabbing the tablet while she ran across the beach.
Well, at least I’m not bored, Mark thought as he ran after his
