and wonder how I would react. Well on a charter bus heading to a national competition I found out the answer. At about 0300 hours my charter bus slammed into the charter bus ahead of us. I was awake and prepared myself for the impact leaving me uninjured. Others on the bus were not so lucky as they were thrown from their seats or into the seat in front of them. People began screaming as panic erupted from shock, blood, and broken bones.The door where we entered did not exist anymore so I jumped out the side window and began to help other out of the windows. When the back door was opened, people started heading out that way, and I began to assist people that could not walk on their own. I helped the last of the people get off the bus then jumped backed in to make sure no one was left on the bus. I grabbed the cell phones I saw so people could call their parents. When I went to where all the injured were it was dramatic for me. I knew everyone on that bus, and those who were hurt the most, I knew personally. I was praised by others later that trip because I reacted quickly and was the only one who went back to help.
