Apology Letter To Dojo

I apologize I didn't see your dojo message. My direct e-mail is the best way to reach me, but I am typically better at seeing messages on dojo. I collect the 1/2 or whole sheets as they enter my room daily and grade/assess their answers. (It's not a grade in the gradebook). I periodically check the homework book, but not daily. I look to see who has completed the work, but not the answers daily. The book is a spiral review. I will periodically have them tear out a sheet from the HW book to analyze their understanding as well. The sheets are on the current skills and I use these to help guide my instruction. She is getting credit for doing her work though I do not take class time to sign the kids’ books.

The work of Principle Elizabeth Dozier at Christian Fenger High School known as Fenger Academy in Chicago is admirable. The similarities between the article How America’s toughest Principal Fights For Her Students and Paul Toug’s book, How Children Succeed, are many because they both focus on the outside stressors students face. Focusing on academics will not help students at Fanger High since, their poor behavior at school is due to the problems they have at home. Most students are living in poverty; therefore, Principle Dozier “enrolled twenty-five of her most troubled students in an intensive mentoring program” (Tough, 2012, pg. 7). Tough included the story of one of the students in the mentoring program, who began to have positive changes.…

After attending karate for 11 years, I have taken a weekly position teaching. Though sometimes I teach adults, I usually teach children, and while they have a difficult time focusing for any long period of time, the joy and satisfaction of seeing them succeed and pass tests is wonderful. I began tutoring when a young girl had struggled to pass belt test after multiple tries, so after talking to her and her parents we arranged a weekly schedule to focus on her largest obstacles. With just 4 sessions together she was able to pass the rank exam without any difficulties.…

The Family Tree to My Dreams In my eyes, my culture is all the aspects behind my family and the people that help define who I am. This may include the events that have happened to past generations, behaviors of my relatives or beliefs that have been passed down to me. In the book, Is everyone really equal?, the authors, Sensoy and DiAngelo, define culture as “the norms, values, practices, patterns of communication, language, laws, customs, and meanings shared by a group of people located in a given time or place”, expressing that culture can be seen on the outside of a person such as how they dress or the language they speak or underneath the skin such as attitudes toward certain situations or body language (Sensoy and DiAngelo). I believe…
