Physical abuse, passive or active neglect, lab testing, to name a few, have been discussed widely on mainstream media, and therefore people have renounced eating meat or any animal by-product, boycotts of SeaWorld and other establishments such as circuses have taken place, even the tradition of bull fighting in Spain has been condemned. While the physical welfare of animals, another living creature on this plant, has become so important that there has been subsequent creation of an entire movement dedicated to animal rights. When it comes to addressing issues like these, the first done is making sure everyone understands the definition of consent, next question asked should be, “Can all parties consent?” followed by, “Did all parties consent?” Between humans we understand that consent needs to be informed and even verbal and therefore those under a certain age cannot give consent, those in a position of automatic submission cannot consent (i.e.: inmates and guards), those who are intoxicated or unconscious cannot give consent, those who say the word “no” have removed consent from the table.
