The story of Romeo and Juliet has many twist and turns and a couple tragedies. The story begins when Romeo falls in love with another woman but she doesn’t love him back, he then goes to his enemies party to see Juliet and falls immediately in love with her. They both fall in love with each other but can’t be together because of the rivalry between their families. They devise a plan to be together but from the lack of communication goes horribly wrong and leaves a couple people dead. In act 1 scene 5 the context of the passage is that Romeo has never seen anything more beautiful in his life. He's also saying that she's so beautiful that he thinks he instantly fell in love and beauty like hers is rare. Simile is used many times in this passage like “it seems she hangs upon the cheek of the night like a rich jewel in an ethiop's ear.” (Line 42) there is also personification on line 49/50 saying basically his eyes are liars which is impossible, “forswear it, sight! Also everyone loved her so much and she was blessed, so you should accept her death. Friar Laurence was also saying in the passage that juliet's death was a good thing and should be celebrated because she’s in heaven. The main idea of the passage is juliet's death was actually a good thing and she’s in a better place. One poetic device used in this passage is imaginary because friar lawrence says ‘Heaven and yourself had part in this fair maid. Now heaven hath her.’ Which means heaven helped you create her now Heaven has her in the end. Another poetic device used in the passage is simile. In the passage Friar Lawrence says she was ‘high as heaven’ which is saying that her spirit is now in Heaven.
