Analysis Of A Person By Geisel

Improved Essays
any people care about what others think about them, while others maybe their self around anyone and not even care about what others think. In the quote, written by Geisel, “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” This quote tells us to be who we are no matter what.

If we take a closer look at the quote then we can see what it is also telling us. If we are around people and they do not like who you really are then their not really our friends. If people don't like you for who you are then you should not change for them. People who don’t mind your feelings and your thoughts will be the kind of people you want to be around. You should be yourself no matter who you are

I believe that you should always try and be yourself no matter what anyone says or even cost you your life. Laying down your life for being yourself or something you believe in is the noblest thing that someone can do. Being yourself and not letting others restrick you for who you are is the best thing someone can do for themself. I believe Kurt Vonnegut short story “Harrison Bergeron” shares some of the values I have on being true to yourself even if the world is against you or are restricting you from being you. “ Harrison placed his big hands on the girl’s tiny waist, letting her sense the weightlessness that would soon be hers.…

In the reading, I find it interesting a few of the points the father made, in which we can relate to today as well. In the first paragraph there is relevant information we live by today such as when the Akkadian Father brings up “maintain justice for your enemy, be friendly to your enemy.” Many of us know the saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I suspect he is conveying the same message some believe in today, to teach his son the enemies will be unsure of the intensions being formulated furtively of them. Deceive the opposing side into assuming the son will mean no harm, however, he soon may retaliate when they least expect it.…

“We as human beings, must be willing to accept people who are different from ourselves.” I agree that we should be accepting to people different than ourselves. At time it can be very hard to do this and sometimes we don't even realize what we are doing to the person's feelings. For the other person this can be very hard on them. We need to take the time before we say something to think about whether or not it is going to crush this person.…

To me this quote means that as human beings become increasingly aware of the diversity that exists throughout the globe and within our own country, we begin to acknowledge and respect one another, and through this we are one step closer in achieving peace within our country and our world. For starters, I came from a country which failed time and time again to see and understand this concept Rigoberta Menchú so intricately devised into words. Mexico, in all of its natural beauty and ancient civilizations to soak up; is now in deep social and economic peril. Luckily, my mother was sufficiently educated to catch the early warning signs and knew that she wanted a better life for her and me, somewhere where we could have a second chance at life.…
