When I am thinking of ethical topic within digital realm, the first thing comes to my mind is the advertising campaign of American Apparel. American Apparel is an American clothing manufacturer, designer, distributor, marketer. The company filed for bankruptcy in October, 2015. (Kim) American Apparel is famous for their extremely risqué advertising. Not only are AA’s models often scantily clad, many look underage and vulnerable. AA is no stranger to controversy because of having sexual objectification of women, and making it as the selling point in their advertising campaign.
Unfortunately, the target consumers of AA are mostly young people, including minors, which makes the issue becomes more ethical. It is hard to prevent minors seeing those

Government has strict laws in order to fight against child pornography. Relevant laws and regulations to combat child pornography was revised in 2002 by Canadian government. It is illegal to spread pornographic photographs, films, videos to minors who are under age of eighteen. Government has the right to remove inappropriate images and data online. In addition, the law is focused on the bad impact among minors in terms of television and movies, it is required to mark “14+” or “18+” when it shows pornographic or violence content. On top of that, there is a strict rating system in Canada for videos and games. (Categories)
The rating system of motion picture:
• G – General Audience – Suitable for all ages.
• PG – Parental Guidance – Parental guidance advised. There is no age restriction but some material may not be suitable for all children.
• 14A – 14 Accompaniment – Persons under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
• 18A – 18 Accompaniment – Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
• R – Restricted – Admittance restricted to people 18 years of age or older.
• A – Adult – Admittance restricted to people 18 years of age or
