Advice To His Son Advice

Every father has advice to pass down to his son. The poems "Any Man's Advice to His Son" by Kenneth Fearling, "A Father Sees a Son Nearning Manhood" by Carl Sandburg, "If" by Rudyard Kipling, and Book of Proverbs written by King Solomon, all feature poems in which fathers explain to their sons advice that is vital in real life. The advice I would give to my son would be to avoid trusting every man, not letting life take you down, obeying parents, fearing the Lord, shunning evil and to keep your head up in the hardest of times. The poem "Any Man's Advice to His Son, features a father advising his son to "trust no man fully." This advice teaches that trusting any man should be taken into precaution. Trust someone today and they could betray you tomorrow. Likewise, the poem "A Father Sees a Son Nearning Manhood" has a father informing his son that "life is hard; be steel; be a rock." Life will not always be kind to you and at times will push you around, but it's important to keep your ground and stay persistent. …show more content…

In addition, chapter 3 verse 5 and 6 tells “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your ways, but acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. The Lord is your best friend, and if you trust him with your life, you will be

“Life always offers you a second chance. It's called tomorrow” - Unknown . An important lesson to learn in life is that there aren’t bad people, only bad decisions. We learn this by knowing people can change, you learn from mistakes, without forgiveness, one cannot move forward, and letting go of anger is the key to happiness. In the book Touching Spirit Bear and Holes, and the short story “Wings”, Cole, a boy who gets sent to a remote island in Alaska because he assaulted someone at his school, Stanley, a boy who was sent to Camp Green Lake because he stole very valuable shoes, and Icarus, a boy who failed to listen to his dad and because of that died all learned these lessons from many people and experience…

This quote inspires me to endure any hardships I experience for two reasons: it reminds me that there could be more difficult events I could face, and that my reward for enduring it will be a meaningful life experience. Because everyone experiences hardships in life, I can look at this quote and be reassured that I am not the only one with a certain problem, but I am also convinced that many people live through more severe events and therefore I can definitely withstand whatever life may give me. When I look at this quote, I recall all my past troubles and, more importantly, what I learned from those. The quote is similar in message to the “hang in there!”…

We are gathered here in honor of a great man, a great father and finally a great husband, his name is Willy Loman. I would like to begin with this poem; “No one can know the potential, of a life that is committed to win; with courage - the challenge it faces, To achieve great success in the end! So, explore the Dimension of Greatness, and believe that the world CAN be won; by a mind that is fully committed, KNOWING the task can be done! Your world has no place for the skeptic, No room for the DOUBTER to stand; to weaken your firm resolution that you CAN EXCEL in this land! We must have VISION TO SEE our potential, And FAITH TO BELIEVE that we can; Then COURAGE TO ACT with conviction, to become what GOD MEANT us to be!…

You have to break from the social norm and go your own path and do what makes you happy rather than what makes others happy. Robert Frost once wrote “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all of the difference.” “The Road not Taken” by Robert Frost. Robert Frost is saying that you should not take the road that everyone takes and you should try something different and get away from what everyone does. He is saying that it is better to take the road less traveled and maybe fail a couple times then take the easy way and always look back and think “what if”.…

The father-son relationship has flourished from the ancient times of cave fathers who taught their sons how to hunt, to the modern day dads who teach their sons how to play golf. A good father is one who can teach his son how to grow into a mature young man. Some fathers do this in unconditional ways; however, if the father is able to teach his son how to be a man, he has done his job. One writer who dives deep into this father son relationship is Scott Russell Sanders.…
