This window contains about 1/3 of the earth’s land and over 4 billion people, over half of the earth’s population located in one spot. Where the majority of Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and other pagan religions are found, the majority of the 10/40 Window countries have no translation of the Scriptures in their language or dialects. He is the same yesterday, today, forever, and is the hope of all humanity. Chinese philosophers believed that there is unity between knowledge and behavior. They believed that one cannot truly know something and not act upon it. Knowledge becomes the force and motivation of the behavior. If Christians truly believed people are dying and spending eternity in hell, Jesus Christ is coming again soon, and the responsibility of spreading Christ rests upon their shoulders; how could they not act upon it? Understanding the reality of billions of people without a Christian to tell them of Christ should stir something in every Christian’s heart to want to do something. Christians have the hope of the world, yet so many people still lie unreached, empty in their sin, hopelessness filling their soul. 2 Chronicles 16:9 states that God is searching for a heart that is perfect toward Him so that He might show Himself strong in them. Missionary William Carey once said, “To know the will of God, we need an open Bible and an open map.” Jesus Christ commanded His followers to spread His hope to the world. Today, cultures live around the world unreached, not just in the 10/40 Window. Evangelism has become “unpopular” and not needed; yet the Great Commission was a command.
